Currently, Israel is the world leader in cybersecurity and holds the second largest market share of all cybersecurity products and services in the world. The market share in Australia mirrors this. However, recent efforts by the Australian government have indicated a strong will to bolster their own domestic industry.

Despite its tiny population, Israel has achieved the status of the world leader in cybersecurity because of its innovation in education and training. HackerU, a cybersecurity education provider, has stood for over 20 years in Israel and has been key to Israel’s booming cybersecurity sector. HackerU produces roughly 7000 qualified work-ready professionals per year. Australia has taken note of Israel’s success, but despite many advantages and resources, they’ve struggled to fill the worker gap.

With the teach a man to FISH initiative HackerU intends to invest heavily in Australia, and because we are investing in the Australian people, Australia stands to heavily benefit from building the foundations industry, which is knowledge.

This initiative, sponsored by HackerU and endorsed by the Israeli Trade Commission, is established on the principle expressed in the proverb which shares its vocabulary - “If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime”.

HackerU is uniquely positioned to work with Australia to reach its potential as a cybersecurity powerhouse and market leader.
